Event Details

Sam's Jam is the annual event fund raiser for Riders For The Cure (RFTC). This year we will again be riding from M.D Anderson Cancer Center to West of the Brazos in Damon, Tx. This is an awesome escorted ride through the Texas countryside. Upon arrival at West of the Brazos we will have:

2 live bands, Deep Ella and Devilmaycare

Vendor displays

Free BBQ lunch for all riders!! Are you serious, all this fun and free food too?

Part of RFTC's mission is to assist the M. D. Anderson Cancer Center in raising funds to be used toward the stated institutional goal of Making Cancer History®. We continue to provide support for future research and educational goals for The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center. To that end, this year's recipient of the funds raised during this ride will be Dr. Laura Worth, Medical Director in Pediatric Stem Cell Therapy and the Principal Investigator on the Stem Cell Transplant Exercise Protocol. These dollars will fund the purchase of child-friendly exercise equipment (such as dance mats, Nintendo Wii video game systems and stationary bicycles that integrate with video games) that can remain in patients' rooms during their isolation and raise their spirits while promoting physical activity.  In this way, exercise-disguised as play time-will enrich the lives of sick children who cannot go out to play.

Please come out to join us for a day of good ridin', good music, and good company that is all for a great cause. Kick stands up at 10:30AM - see you there!
